Students will view a news article that is relating to politics. I think George Santos is a good topic. Students will find news stories online about the topic. Students will explore PBS, ABC, and Fox News. Students will take notes of the buzz words and the language that is used by the news castor. Is the language positive, negative, neutral or divisive. Students will create a small chart and decide how each station covered the topics relating to George Santos and what has happened and what they think will happen. Also students can venture into his civil discourse and what he did to get into his position. Is it fair should he be removed? Why has he not been removed? If he was a different race and did the exact same thing would the result be different?

I think as the students answer these questions , they may begin to see bias in some of the news reports. This will teach the students the lesson , that it is important to view more than one source and take all information and evaluate the source before adopting its views or comments.
