What do reparations look like?

Introduction: In order for students to understand reparations and Jim Crow laws, they need to learn to review slavery.

We will start with a KWL chart. What I Know. (What I Want to know and What I Learned)

Then, we will watch a video that explains slavery and how it has led up to Jim Crow Law.

I will then bring up the word reparations along with its meaning and examples. I would have a whole group discussion on what they think they understood what reparations is. 

I will split up the class into three groups and each group will have to come up with different reparations. The task here is that they will meet with the president and propose these reparations to enact them as new laws.

Each group will present their work in front of the class. For fun, we will vote on the best reparations presented and ways we can improve the others.
