I chose the first chapter, entitled "The Place of Science and Technology in Our Lives:
Making Sense of Possibilities". The chapter talks about the difference between local and new knowledge. There was a major difference between home and school, and the lessons taught therein. This disconnect between the lessons learned has helped people think about what classifies as knowledge. There is evidently a difference between the "simple" and the "new".
