Susan Ann Dove filed a pension form as a widow for Lewis Oliver Dove. He enlisted on May 16, 1864 and died on April 18, 1865 of inflammation of the lungs. Susan was to receive a pension of $8 starting on April 19, 1865 and she paid a fee of $10 for this file. This pension request was filed in Florida. In a deposition, she claims that he died of jaundice a disease contracted while serving and that she was with him during his illness and at the time of death. She also states that she did not have any children and has not remarried.
