I am directed by the Asst Commissioner to request information relative to the discharge papers of Hilton White private Co. F to 47th U.S.C.I. left at the Office of Sub Asst Commr Jackson Miss for Collection in the year 1866

Respectfully returned to the Asst Commr State of Miss with the information that after a careful search of the records of this office and after instituting inquiries in every direction that it would be possible to obtain information I am utterly at loss to state what has become of the Discharge papers of Pvt. Hilton White late Co F 47th U.S.C.I. There is no evidence now existing to show that it ever had been filed in this Office
