While rewatching the video, I was reminded that the central value in African ways of knowing is relationships.  This ties back to creating people-centered curriculum and inspired me to think about food in relation to people, community, culture.  Two possible essential questions I now have are: How can food help us remember people and places? How do people care for one another through food?

Love this. Food evokes emotion and memories. I remember my Uncle came to an event at my home and asked who made a particular dish. I said it was me. He looked at me surprised and said it tasted like his mothers. I said, it should, it was my mothers recipe (his sister) and she got it from Nana. I was low key beaming inside. Mission accomplished.
