After viewing The Knarrative framework I can see that it is a set of essential questions designed to center Africans in the study of history and culture, consisting of seven categories: Social Structures, Governance, Ways of Knowing/Systems of Thought, Science and Technology, Movement and Memory, Cultural Meaning-Making, and "How Do It Free Us? When reflecting on the standard set by my district and specifically this one (RL.11–12.3-Analyze the impact of the author’s choices regarding how to develop and relate elements of a story or drama (e.g., where a story is set, how the action is ordered, how the characters/archetypes are introduced and developed). CA) we can see that the standard emphasizes the importance of understanding an author's purpose and the effects of their choices on the text and the reader's experience and The Knarrative framework centers on African perspectives, experiences, and contributions, providing a unique lens through which to study history, culture, and literature. Perhaps the addition of this will allow for a more complete understanding of authors purpose and allows us to do what was suggested in the video to know and understand BEYOND.
