"Life in Chinguetti" explained the life of a particular family and how they live the same as their ancestors. I think this is important to know because that helps me understand that's a way of life for some cultures. They want to preserve that tradition and way of living. I also found interesting when asked about his own kids/grandchildren, Mohammed stated they are more interested in studying and education. They don't seem to have the same interest in those traditions. I think it's important to know traditions are still very important in today's societies.

I also found it interesting that the grandfather was quick to say future generations are more interested in education.  And when the girls were asked directly, they said they were busy studying.  The mayor piped in quickly stating that both traditions and learning or education of traditions is important.  I didn't see signs of electronics; have to wonder how that technology is influencing modern life and ideas for their future.
