My chosen script is Ajami. Here is an accompanying article about it: https://www.bu.edu/articles/2020/digitizing-ajami-african-written-language/

People used Ajami for writing various African languages, including Songhai, Mande, Hausa, and Swahili. Ajami was developed around 300 years ago. Some artifacts that show Ajami's usage include religious texts, medical diagnoses, advertisements, love poems, etc - the list goes on and on. As mentioned in the above text and in the assignment description, Ajami is written in many different African languages. Ajami was important because it proved that a writing system was thriving in African countries. When people perceived that Africans were not developing a strong literacy and writing system, Ajami showed the opposite - people were actually writing and developing strong scripts in Africa.
