About Me
I am a passionate geographer that believes strong instruction values voice and choice, integrates emerging technologies, utilizes the inquiry process, and defies ability ceilings. My experience and interests grasp of history, geoliteracy, and geospatial technologies helps provide AHS students with authentic learning opportunities that include iSTEM GIS solutions, service learning, internships, and designing award winning maps and apps. Outside the classroom, he has collaborated on projects focused on using GIS to enhance historical research and instruction. These include: #YouCanMapThat! An Interdisciplinary GIS Curriculum for the Middle School Classroom; Esri’s GeoInquiries, the workbook Jamestown to Appomattox: Mapping US History using GIS, and GIS for Teachers, the first GIS textbook for pre-service teachers.
