I believe my District scratches on these questions but not fully engages with these questions and way of thinking. It does give me the freedom as a social studies educator to choose which aspects of World History that I would like to focus on. If I am being fully transparent, I strive to be equitable in my classroom and content area, but I definitely am slacking when discussing Africa in its wholeness. I would definitely want to incorporate these questions into my classroom to fully challenge and engage my students.

Thank you Amber for sharing. I think it is important to acknowledge gaps in our curriculum and teaching and seek to do something about it. Thank you for challenging yourself to incorporate more of African studies into your World History curriculum.
