The documentary shows that the Kingdom of Kush had powerful kings and queens, a strong economy based on trade and agriculture, its own writing system, impressive pyramids, religious traditions, and advanced ironworking skills. This history is important because it challenges stereotypes about ancient Africa and shows Africa’s contributions to world history. What struck me most was that Kush conquered and ruled Egypt and had powerful queens. I was surprised by how advanced and influential this African civilization was.
