Dr. Menna Agha gave a discussion plus visuals as to how her indigenous homeland was flooded initially first by the British colonizers and then by the Egyptian government. The history she tells is an example of spatial injustice/ spatial injustice. The people were moved off of their land by greed.

I also benefitted from Dr. Agha's description of modernist housing substitutes. Where we live, and the school I teach in, there are many families who live in Section 8 housing. These homes are very small and mimic the homes mentioned in the film. When building these units, the state gave the people the very minimum.

I like how the women in Dr. Agha's family ensured that their cultural practice could live on, despite all of the displacement.
