After listening to Komla Dumor’s, it matters that we center Africans telling their own stories because everyone should have the chance to see the reality and balance of cities.For example, Luanda is known for beautiful views and expensive restaurants but only a couple of miles from Luanda is a very opposite.  Dumor’s point is that it is very important to tell both stories. It is important to hear African experts share their own stories whether positive or negative.  African experts have know their own experiences and are able to truly understand certain information because they themselves have lived it. I believe that African experts will be enhanced by the inclusion of African voices because others are going to relate. Having these experts share their first hand experiences empowers others to do the same.
