Students can study the history of Arabic numbers by reading the articles mentioned earlier in this module (linked above). Students will be assigned into groups and they will share their ideas with one another. They will discuss the effect that Arabic numerals have on their knowledge of numbers today. Science is part of the humanities classroom in terms of a discussion because so many things in life are interdisciplinary - you cannot separate one from the other. The history of science tells us that ideas spread through people, and there was a great overlap between the humanities and science.
